Chelsea have reportedly reignited their interest in Aston Villa’s rising star Jhon Duran, with internal talks taking place this week over a potential move for the talented Colombian striker.

Jhon Duran on Chelsea’s Radar Again as Transfer Window Intensifies

The Blues had previously considered a bid for Duran during the summer transfer window but ultimately decided against it due to concerns over his attitude and the overall cost of the deal.

However, with rival clubs such as West Ham United and Paris Saint-Germain now making significant offers, Chelsea are once again positioning themselves in the race for his signature.

According to reports, Chelsea officials held discussions on Monday, assessing the feasibility of bringing Duran to Stamford Bridge.

Club owner Todd Boehly is said to be optimistic about striking a deal, believing that if other clubs are putting forward bids, there is a genuine opportunity to secure the 20-year-old’s services.

The Blues have also re-engaged with Duran’s representatives this week to evaluate the striker’s current situation and potential interest in a move.

Duran has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Villa Park, scoring 12 goals in just seven starts across all competitions. Despite his impressive form, the presence of established stars like Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers has limited his first-team opportunities.

This lack of regular playing time could work in Chelsea’s favor as they look to lure the young forward to west London.

However, the challenge for Chelsea lies in integrating Duran into their already competitive attacking lineup. Nicolas Jackson is currently in exceptional form, leading the line for the Blues with consistent performances.

Additionally, Chelsea boasts a wealth of attacking talent in Pedro Neto, Jadon Sancho, Cole Palmer, and Noni Madueke, making it uncertain how head coach Enzo Maresca would accommodate Duran in his squad.

Despite these challenges, Chelsea remain determined to reinforce their attacking options with young talent. Duran’s potential move to Stamford Bridge could provide the squad with greater depth and a fresh attacking threat as they push for success in both domestic and European competitions.

With negotiations ongoing and the January transfer window heating up, it remains to be seen whether the Blues can finalize a deal for the promising South American striker.
