Chelsea have prioritised the signing of Gabriel Barbosa from Flamengo.
The Brazilian forward is seen as an ideal attacking option as he can play both center and out wide.
Barbosa spent the last year out on loan at Flamengo from Inter Milan. In the calendar year he scored 43 goals.
Barbosa is in red hot form now as he recently helped Flamengo win Copa Libertadores final by scoring a double against River Plate.
Barbosa has seen his footballing career go up and down as his European stints so far has not been so successful.
He played for both Benfica in Portugal and Inter Milan in Italy. However, the Brazilian forward has been unable to make his mark.
This should definitely be a red flag for Chelsea who will know that the style of game and lifestyle in Europe is not easy for all South American players to adapt into.
Inter are not likely to prove difficult negotiators with the club willing to sell him off. However, what Inter maybe likely want to do is chase Olivier Giroud, who is currently on Chelsea’s books.
This will hand Chelsea the upper hand in the deal they definitely look desperate to get done.
