The player has been tipped to leave his club this summer
Chelsea are expected to overhaul their side this summer after an underwhelming Premier League and Champions League campaign last season. They finished 5th in the league and will miss the Champions League in the upcoming season.
The Blues appointed Maurizio Sarri as their new manager after sacking Antonio Conte and also completed the signing of midfielder Jorginho from Napoli, the club’s first summer signing.
They have been behind in the transfer window in comparison to other Premiere League clubs but with their managerial situation sorted, they are keen add more players before the transfer window closes.
Despite signing the Italy International, Sarri has identified midfield as the area he wants to improve. The English side particularly struggled in that area last season as the midfielders barring N’Golo Kante struggled to make an impact.
The Premier League giants have been linked with move for Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic though the Bosnia International dismissed the transfer links. But the club are now looking to make a move for Premier League ace.
Chelsea are preparing a bid of around £30 million to sign Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, according to the Mail on Sunday.
The Wales International moved to the Emirates Stadium from Cardiff for a reported fee of £4.8 million in 2008. He has been a mainstay in the midfield since joining them, scoring 58 goals in 327 appearances in all competitions.
The 27 year old was a regular last season for the Gunners, scoring 12 goals and assisting 9 in 36 appearances in all competitions. But the club finished sixth in the Premier League and will miss the Champions League in the upcoming season.
The Welsh midfielder has entered the final year of his contract and yet to commit himself to a long term agreement. Talks have been going on with his representative for a 4 or 5 year contract over the past few months.
Club’s new manager Unai Emery has admitted that he sees Ramsey as a key part for his future plans and has urged the club to keep him beyond this summer. But they are yet to reach an agreement and his future is is still hanging in the balance.
The Blues are looking to take advantage of the whole situation and are now set to move in and attempt to conclude a cut-price deal.
