Chelsea Plotting £80m Transfer To Replace Eden Hazard

According to the latest reports, Chelsea are eyeing up an auspicious move for Everton’s Richarlison in the summer.

The Daily Mirror has claimed that Eden Hazard could be on his way to Real Madrid after this season for only £100m. It will take a big signing to fill up the Belgian’s spot on the left flank and the Blues think Richarlison is the ideal player to do so.

The Brazilian winger has been impressive for the Toffees since making the switch from Watford last summer. Chelsea were heavily linked with him, even prior to his move to the Premier League altogether.

The 21-year-old ended up moving to Watford from Fluminense for £11.2m only, in August 2017. After just 62 games and 15 goals in the English top-flight, now he is valued at £80m.

Everton splashed out £50m to bring him to the Goodison Park and has so far been rewarded for it. Richarlison has carried the Merseyside outfit’s attacking lineup with 11 goals and 2 assists in 27 appearances this season.

He has showcased his versatility by appearing from both wing and striker positions, something Eden Hazard was not too keen on when Maurizio Sarri shifted him out to the false nine spot.

The question remains on whether Richarlison will be able to emulate Hazard in the Chelsea ranks. He certainly has the ambition to climb to the very top.
