Chelsea reportedly hold a keen interest in signing Strasbourg striker Conrad Harder as the club continues its strategy of acquiring elite young talent.

Chelsea Eye Conrad Harder: Blues Monitor Strasbourg Striker for Future Move

The Blues have endured a mixed start to the new Premier League campaign under recently appointed manager Xabi Alonso.

Despite opening the season with back-to-back victories over Fulham and Brighton, Chelsea have failed to maintain that momentum.

The team has collected just one point from their last three league fixtures, leaving them languishing in mid-table with seven points from five matches.

However, the side has advanced to the Carabao Cup fourth round after defeating Luton Town and Leeds United.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea are closely monitoring Harder ahead of a potential winter transfer swoop.

The 21-year-old Danish striker joined Strasbourg Chelsea’s sister club on loan from RB Leipzig on deadline day. He made an immediate impact by scoring on his debut against Troyes earlier this month.

If Harder continues to impress Chelsea’s scouts, the club could make a formal move in January.

The Blues face competition, however, as Leeds United, Everton, and Brighton have also monitored his development closely.

Harder, a 6ft 1in left-footed striker, possesses impressive pace, strength, and finishing ability.

He works hard without possession and initially gained attention through promising performances for Sporting CP before joining Leipzig last year.

Despite struggling for regular minutes at Red Bull Arena, the young Dane possesses high potential.

Chelsea and Strasbourg share the same ownership group, a relationship that has facilitated several player transfers in recent years.

This connection places Chelsea in a strong position to secure Harder’s services should they pursue a deal.

It remains to be seen whether Alonso’s side will make a concrete approach in January or wait until next summer.
