Chelsea are preparing for a raid on Atletico Madrid.
The Blues have reportedly identified their top defensive targets for the 2020 summer transfer window and will be knocking heavy on Diego Simeone’s door to get their players.
Chelsea have transitioned smoothly into a new age team under Frank Lampard. Despite losing star players. the Blues have formed a new team with more attacking finesse but it has come at the cost of defensive lapses.
Both individually and collectively, Chelsea look fragile at the back and Kepa Arrizabalaga has more often than not been found to be the guilty party.
Hence, in an attempt to bolster the custodian’s position, Chelsea are targeting Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid. Considered to be one of the best in the world, Oblak would definitely be an upgrade on Kepa and make a massive impact in the backline.
The other player to have interested Chelsea is Jose Maria Gimenez – the Atletico defender has been on a good patch of form and is relatively young. He will definitely strengthen the Blues backline.
It might put in jeopardy the future of Rudiger or Zouma at the backline and for Chelsea they have to sell before they can buy again as they have already invested a lot in their frontline.
