Blues loss to Brighton & Hove Albion, a well-known writer predicts that Chelsea will fire manager Liam Rosenior, although it is unlikely that BlueCo will do so before the FA Cup match against Leeds United.

Brighton destroyed Chelsea 3-0 at the American Express Stadium on Monday, making it their fifth straight Premier League loss—and that too without scoring a goal. Ferdi Kadioglu, Jack Hinshelwood, and Danny Welbeck scored goals to give the Seagulls all three points in the match.

Chelsea’s performance was dreadful, and they are currently seven points behind fifth-place Liverpool in the Premier League standings.

It now appears like qualifying for the Champions League next season would be extremely difficult, and manager Liam Rosenior—who was just appointed in January after Enzo Maresca left—will be under more pressure. Henry Winter, a well-known journalist, has been critical of Chelsea’s performance against Brighton.

Chelsea should sack Rosenior, including Lampard and 28-year low

Maresca ensured that Moises Caicedo’s and Enzo Fernandez’s prices were no longer noteworthy; under his leadership, the former was regarded as the world’s greatest midfielder of his kind. In a similar vein, Marc Cucurella was praised for being entertaining.

Last season, Levi Colwill had a significant impact. Trevoh Chalobah was smoothly reintegrated into the group. Pedro Neto was giving him a song. By developing Reece James into a superb centre midfielder, he disproved sceptics. Under Rosenior, none of those players appear as good. Joao Pedro is the lone exception; he has performed quite well, but his form has also drastically declined in recent weeks.

As with all of these reasons to send Rosenior packing, we acknowledge the challenge of entering in the middle of the season with games coming up quickly. At the very least, this isn’t entirely his fault.

The blame rests with BlueCo, but Chelsea has also had incredible success in the past by firing managers in the middle of a season, most notably in its two Champions League-winning seasons under Roberto Di Matteo and Thomas Tuchel in 2012 and 2021.
