Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca was fired, and Todd Boehly has been cautioned not to make the “ridiculous” error. The team’s sixth-place performance from the previous season did little to persuade Chelsea’s management that former Tottenham and PSG manager Pochettino would bring significant trophies back to Stamford Bridge, and he left the team soon after the season concluded.

Chelsea is perceived as being ahead of schedule, and there is compassion for Maresca, who has suffered several injury setbacks in recent weeks. Maresca will be itching for Chelsea to resume winning ways when they play Aston Villa this weekend after two subpar showings against Brighton.
Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Aston Villa in the corresponding match at the beginning of December was possibly their final really outstanding showing under Maresca.
