Xavi has left the door open for Dembele to sign a new deal.
Chelsea have reportedly pulled out from the race to sign Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele.
Chelsea were one of several sides linked with a January swoop for the Frenchman. Dembele’s contract at Camp Nou now has less than six months left to run.
The window shut with Dembele still on the books at Barcelona, but
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has been tipped to try again in the upcoming summer in order to reunite with his former Borussia Dortmund protege.
According to AS, Chelsea have now pulled out of the race to sign the Barca man due to the uncertainty over their summer situation ahead of Roman Abramovich’s imminent departure.
The report also adds that Juventus and PSG also have no interest in signing the 24-year-old as a free agent this summer, which could give Manchester United a free run at the attacker.
Xavi has left the door open for Dembele to sign a new deal. The France international managed one goal and provided three assists in his last two La Liga appearances.
