Kai Havertz is wanted by Real Madrid, but Chelsea is only interested in a long-term deal
The Chelsea forward Kai Havertz is a target for Real Madrid, according to a tweet from transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano. The German player appeals to Carlo Ancelotti. Chelsea is now willing to negotiate, but they only want a sizable sum and the player’s permanent sale. None of the loan offers will pique their interest.
The ‘what might be’ has surrounded Havertz’s time at Stamford Bridge. Although he often played as a number nine, he occasionally shown flashes of brilliance but lacked consistency.
However, his performance and the game-winning goal against Manchester City in the 2021 Champions League final will not be forgotten. If Chelsea wants to make acquisitions this summer, we know that they will need to raise money through player sales. They won’t consider a loan offer from Madrid for Havertz as a result. In 139 games across all competitions, the former Bayer Leverkusen great only managed to score 32 goals and provide 15 assists.
The 23-year-old is still capable of performing admirably as an attacking midfielder supporting a cunning striker. But the German might have trouble getting there now that Christopher Nkunku is expected there this summer. Therefore, it makes sense that Chelsea would be willing to let Havertz leave during the upcoming transfer window. Let’s hope Madrid agrees to purchase him on a long-term basis.
It may be difficult for Mauricio Pochettino and company to sign a star striker because they won’t be playing in Europe next season.
