Chelsea reach agreement with new manager.
The Blues are said to have Antonio Conte compensation decided.
The English giants are on the verge of appointing Maurizio Sarri as their new manager, having reached a ‘total agreement’ with the Italian over a deal to take over from Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.
According to CalcioNapoli, The Blues have finally agreed a deal with the Italian side for the release of Sarri.
The 59-year-old agreed a two year deal worth 5 million euros with the London giants with the option of a one year extension.
Zola could be appointed in Chelsea’s assistant managerial role.
Gianfranco Zola’s agent said:
“He is very happy with the rumours, his idols as coaches are Guardiola and Sarri.
“Working with Maurizio would be a fantastic thing for him it would also be a homecoming. Chelsea is another home for Zola.”
“He has remained in the hearts of all the fans, no one has ever taken the jersey no.25. In the farewell with Chelsea 40 thousand people arrived to greet him. We still have to wait a few days; I have no scheduled meetings.”
Chelsea failed to qualify for the Champions League under Conte last season after winning the league the season before and looking to get back to their best.
