As a new addition to Chelsea, World Cup champion Branco claims that Estevao Willian is the “greatest player born in Brazil” since Neymar. With a €34 million upfront payment and possible add-ons totaling another €23 million, the west London club, the Blues, and Palmeiras have agreed an agreement for €57 million (£48 million) for Estevao.
Branco, the official youth coordinator of Brazilian football and a former World Cup winner with his country, Brazil, thinks Estevao is the best player born in Brazil since Neymar. Putting all due respect to others aside, I think Estevao is great. He told reporters, “This is something serious that I have never said and I am going to say.” He’s the best player I’ve seen from Brazil since Neymar.
Arsenal legend congratulates Chelsea on their signing of Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian
Brazil has always produced a wealth of talented football players, and Estevao Willian is no exception. There’s no doubting the excitement that surrounds this young player—many have already compared him to football legend Lionel Messi.
Former Arsenal legend Julio Baptista commended Chelsea for acquiring Brazilian sensation Estevao Willian. “Estevao Willian is an incredible talent coming out of Brazil, but I don’t like him being compared to a player like Lionel Messi,” he said to Oddspedia. Although Brazil has amazing talent, the pressure to live up to expectations can often get to them. However, he is a terrific addition to Chelsea and has the potential to be a very good player.
It makes sense; he hasn’t even fully begun his career, and the youngster may feel a lot of pressure from being compared to such legendary figures.
