According to reports, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has already drawn a shortlist of players he wants to sign next summer. Apparently, Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell tops his list.

Lampard replaced Sarri in the managerial hot seat of the Stamford Bridge this summer after the Italian left to join Juventus.

The Chelsea boss is said to be closely monitoring the Englishman who is close to sealing a starting spot in the England starting XI. He has already cemented his place under Brendan Rodgers at the King Power Stadium.

Lampard is said to be looking for a like-to-like replacement for Marcos Alonso. The Spaniard’s future at the Stamford Bridge remains uncertain as of the moment.

Chilwell recently signed a new contract with Leicester City in October 2018. His new contract runs down until 2024.

Chelsea are set to take on Manchester United in their opening game of the Premier League campaign today. Meanwhile, Chilwell and Leicester City will welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers in their first game of the season today.
