Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount to sign new contract at Stamford Bridge!

Chelsea could be forced to sell Mason Mount in the next transfer window.

Transfer insider Dean Jones has informed GiveMeSport, Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount could still sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

Some reports have added that an extension is not done. However, Jones thinks there is still a good chance that he puts pen to paper on a fresh deal.

As per the reports of The Athletic, Chelsea’s contract talks with Mount have been paused and are unlikely to resume until the summer.

Football Insider reported that an agreement between the two parties over a new deal is “further away than it has ever been”. Mount’s current contract expires next year.

Chelsea could be forced to sell Mount in the next transfer window to avoid losing their academy product for nothing.

Speaking to GMS, Jones said: “The chances are, by the end of the season, he will be convinced to sign that new deal.

“Now, ultimately, a lot could change for Chelsea. They might have a new manager; they might not have European football. All these things have to be weighed up by Mason Mount and how he fits in.”

Jones recently told GMS that he thinks Liverpool are one side who are ready to make a move for the Englishman in the next transfer window.
