Euro Cup winner Jorginho is expected to stay at Chelsea beyond the summer.
The Italian midfielder was instrumental in Chelsea’s Champions League triumph last season and also played a key role for Italy in the European Championship.
He is a possible candidate for the Ballon d’Or winner this season who still has two years left on his Blues contract.
Earlier this week, Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos confirmed that the 29-year old is keen to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.
“We live for dreams and I will be quite honest, [the Ballon d’Or] hinges on what criteria they use,” he told SporTV via ESPN Brasil this week.
“If it is down to skill, I am not the best player in the world. But if it is down to who won more trophies, there is no one who won more titles than me [this year].
“It depends on the criteria, best player or who won more titles? How do you compare to Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar? Honestly, those are different characteristics, but it comes along with the criteria.”
