Danny Drinkwater should make a move away from Stamford Bridge.

The forgotten Chelsea star shone in the pre-season friendly against Bournemouth.

Since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2017, he has made only 23 appearances for the Blues.

He has been sent out on loan on three spells at Burnley and Aston Villa and Turkish outfit Kasimpasa.

He has been impressive in the pre-season friendly against Bournemouth and could reignite his career under Thomas Tuchel in the upcoming campaign.

Pundit Paul Merson believes he should make a transfer request and move out of Chelsea in this summer to reignite his career.

“I’m hearing Danny Drinkwater really caught the eye in Chelsea’s friendly with Bournemouth the other night,” Merson wrote for the Daily Star.

“I’m really pleased for him because, without being horrible, I’d completely forgotten about him and that’s a shame because he is a really good player.

“I’m not sure Danny can turn things around at Chelsea but he might just be able to get himself a move and reignite his career.”
