Chelsea Make Major Breakthrough In Youngster's Contract Negotiations

According to the latest reports, Chelsea have convinced their most prolific youngster, Callum Hudson-Odoi to extend his contract by 5 years.

Reputed journalist of Standard Sport, Simon Johnson has confirmed the story. He claims that there has been a major breakthrough in contract agreements and an official announcement from the club can be expected soon.

Callum Hudson-Odoi was nearing the end of his contract and was being heavily pursued by Bayern Munich back in January. The Bundesliga giants had three of their bids rejected by the Blues as the winger expressed a desire to leave.

He was growing frustrated with a lack of playing time. After much consideration, Maurizio Sarri handed the youngster more playing time and immediately saw what he can deliver on the pitch.

Hudson-Odoi started in 4 consecutive Premier League games before an Achilles tear ended his season for good. However, this did allow him to rekindle his faith in the South West London club, heightened by the news of Eden Hazard possibly leaving for Real Madrid soon.

A spot in the starting lineup is up for grabs and Hudson-Odoi has more than a fair shot of making it his own next season. This is a huge win for the Chelsea faithful who have seen their Academy youngsters get shipped out on loan spells on countless occasions.

Hudson-Odoi, along with Ruben Loftus-Cheek could finally set a new tone for the rising young athletes at the Stamford Bridge.
