Mauricio Pochettino wants Chelsea to make a move for Ivan Toney in summer.

The Blues have been struggling with goals throughout this season and needs a prolific goalscorer to take the squad to the next level.

Chelsea signed Nicolas Jackson last summer who has chipped in only nine goals in all competitions and has been inconsistent most of the time.

Brentford are holding out a fee of £80m for Ivan Toney who will be a prime target for several English clubs this summer.

Chelsea would definitely need to offload a few players in order to adhere with the Financial Fair Player regulations.

The 27-year-old striker would be a huge upgrade to current striking options Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku who arrived last summer.

His betting ban was uplifted in January and Toney will be at the centre of a transfer debacle in the summer window.

According to reports, Pochettino has requested the board to make a move for the Englishman if he’s available in the summer.

The Argentine manager believes Toney is one player who can take the Chelsea squad to another level and challenge for major trophies.
