According to the Standard, Chelsea is getting ready to increase their interest in Brentford striker Ivan Toney. Though they won’t be able to match the alleged £16 million annual wage offer made to the 28-year-old by Saudi Pro League team Al Ahli, the Blues are rumoured to want to move for the player before the transfer market ends on Friday.
If an offer approaching £40 million is made, it’s thought that the Bees would consider cutting ties with Toney. This summer, the Stamford Bridge administration is still focused on adding a striker to manager Enzo Maresca’s squad. Gianluca Di Marzio reports that they are also considering Napoli forward Victor Osimhen. The 25-year-old Nigerian international is anticipated to receive an official offer from Chelsea in the next few days, with Paris Saint-Germain poised to compete.
Chelsea to battle Al Ahli for Ivan Toney
After a deal for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen collapsed, Chelsea entered the race, although Toney had reportedly agreed to join Saudi Pro League team Al-Ahli. As a result of Osimhen’s alleged wage demands, Toney might now wind up at Stamford Bridge. There are a lot of things going on with Ivan, Thomas Frank acknowledged.
There is a lot of transfer interest, particularly with moves. We’ve made the decision to leave him off the squad in light of all of that. There’s only so much I can reveal the day before. We all know that Ivan is a great player, of course.
