Napoli striker Victor Osimhen drops hint over potential transfer to Chelsea

Earlier this month, Liam Delap left Ipswich Town to join Chelsea. While the former Manchester City striker will make his debut for the Blues during the FIFA Club World Cup in the coming weeks, the team is still interested in Napoli star Victor Osimhen and has not finished their business in the number nine spot despite their quality acquisition.

Turkish journalist Serdar Ali Celikler claims that Chelsea will try to sign Osimhen in August at a lower cost than the £63 million Napoli has charged for him.

The striker still sees the Premier League as his ideal destination and is not interested in making a permanent move to the Super Lig team, despite Galatasaray’s continued interest in him.

The Serie A champions may lower Osimhen’s asking price as the transfer window comes to an end because he is not part of Antonio Conte’s plans at Napoli and has been eager for a new challenge since last year.

According to the source, if Osimhen decides to join the Blues this summer, Galatasaray may look to Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea.

Osimhen to Chelsea deal a high possibility

The pre-Club World Cup deadline has gone, but Simone Inzaghi, the new head coach, has apparently not given up. Turkish writer Yagiz Sabuncuoglu claims that Osimhen would receive an incredible £42.6 million (€50 million) annually if Al-Hilal accepted a new personal conditions offer.

Given his ties to the club and their capacity to pay him a substantial salary, a permanent return to Galatasaray is a definite possibility if he remains steadfast in his refusal to relocate to Saudi Arabia.

Osimhen and moves that could affect him are the subject of a lot of rumors, so it appears Chelsea is still debating whether to add another striker to complement Liam Delap. Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt seems to be the preferred addition to Enzo Maresca’s squad, despite his desire for more experience.

The Bundesliga team values the 22-year-old at £84 million (€100 million), while Liverpool and Manchester United are also interested in a move. Given that Osimhen has played in the top league for multiple seasons, attention may rapidly shift to him if a Premier League competitor meets those requirements.
