Chelsea Looking To Beat Everton To Sergio Reguilon

Chelsea’s search for a new left-back continues to churn up interesting names and this time, it’s Sergio Reguilon.

Everton have already bid £18 million for La Liga’s best left-back from last season. Reguilon has greatly impressed on his loan spell to Sevilla, helping them to Champions League qualification.

Chelsea’s primary target in the position is Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell but both clubs are poles apart in terms of a transfer fee. The Foxes are demanding £80 million for the Englishman even though there are no other serious buyers. Frank Lampard has understandably started looking at other options like Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico and FC Porto’s Alex Telles.

Reguilon is a Real Madrid academy product who has little chance of breaking into the current Galactico side. Even though Zinedine Zidane rates him highly, there is no chance Reguilon will win minutes over Ferland Mendy and veteran, Marcelo. Real also are under pressure to sell €200 million worth of players to balance their books.

Chelsea can easily swoop him up with a bid greater than Everton’s. They are in a stronger position to convince Reguilon as well, after clinching Champions League football this season.
