David Fofana will see his contract expire in the summer of 2029.
Chelsea loanee David Fofana is now considering playing next season for the Blues instead of playing on loan. He has indicated that he would like to start next season at Chelsea.
He moved to the Blues in the winter of 2023 and made just one start. He made three substitute outings across all competitions. Chelsea signed players like Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku. Fofana sent out on loan with Union Berlin.
The 21-year-old scored only two goals in 17 matches and then made a switch to Burnley who got promoted to Premier League this season.
Fofana scored four goals and provided one assist from his 10 starts and five substitute outings in the Premier League. The Ivory Coast international will see his contract expire in the summer of 2029.
Chelsea may push him for another loan stint but he wants to play more with the Blues. Speaking to Capital Football, Fofana said: “I haven’t thought about it yet. I think I’ll go back and why not do the pre-season with Chelsea?
“I wanted to stay (in January) but some things happened. But for sure I have nothing to envy Nicolas Jackson, who is my friend.”
