But he has been the subject of heavy criticism and backlash on social media.
He broke into the Chelsea squad under the tenure of Frank Lampard and since has been one of the consistent performers for the Blues.
This year the 22-year-old won Chelsea’s Player of The Season for the second season in a row.
He was the club’s highest goalscorer with 11 goals in the Premier League in the 2021/22 season.
Club legend Joe Cole has slammed the critics in a recent interview.
He said to Football Daily: “That’s the sign of the times in it, people don’t want to admit they were wrong.”
“Anyone who’s not having Mason Mount needs to have a look at themselves.”
“He’s more rounded. If we had a time machine and you put all them great players and you took them out and them back in our era, Mason would be the one that adjusts quicker.”
