Chelsea keen on making transfer move for Edson Alvarez in January

Chelsea are keen to return for Edson Alvarez in January’s transfer window. As per a tweet from CFCPys, via Mike Verweij (h/t Football.London), Chelsea are open on making a transfer move for Ajax midfielder.

Teh 24-year-old was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but the Dutch side rejected the switch after the Blues made a £43.2m bid to sign him on deadline day. He was angry at this decision, but nothing could be done about it at the time.

The Ajax attacker is a flexible player who can play both as a defensive midfielder and as a centre-back. He arrived at the Dutch club from Mexican side Club America in the summer of 2019 and has been one of the regular faces for them in the team.

The Mexican international has been regular in the first-team and the midfielder helped the side to win the league title with Ajax.

Chelsea missed out the opportunity in the summer window so the Blues should definitely go back for him as early as possible in January.
