Chelsea and Real Madrid are interested in signing Marcelo Brozovic, an Inter Milan midfielder

In an effort to strengthen their team, Chelsea has recently added Marcelo Brozovic to their line of defensive midfield acquisitions. The information comes in response to a story from the Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Real Champs), which claimed that Chelsea would consider signing the Croatian player if Moises Caicedo’s offer failed. However, a lot of teams, like Barcelona, Juventus, and Real Madrid, want to buy the player. Chelsea has since joined the race as well.

The 30-year-old has been an integral part of Inter Milan, but the Italian powerhouses are considering moving the star owing to recent fitness difficulties. Inter has continued to be a strong team without him, thus selling him is unlikely to hurt the squad much. Chelsea is interested in acquiring Marcelo Brozovic from Inter Milan. It won’t be easy, though, as a number of clubs are interested in buying him, and Chelsea hasn’t previously showed a preference for signing players in their 30s under Todd Boehly- with a few notable exceptions.

Since joining Inter Milan, the defensive midfielder has participated in over 302 matches, scoring 30 goals and dishing out 37 assists. Everyone who has watched him play is well aware of his abilities on both ends of the field. Given that he has been a dependable performer for Inter and has appeared in 10 games for the Nerazzurri this season, Brozovic may be the ideal defensive midfielder for Chelsea.

Chelsea’s midfield has been underperforming, which has had an effect on their on-field outcomes and led to them being outplayed in the middle of the field on multiple occasions. The 30-year-signing old’s would not instantly improve the team, but maybe he will be able to connect the game with the players and help spread the ball around the field.

He is too elderly, according to a lot of people. Casemiro, who is also 30 years old, has had a spectacular season after joining Manchester United for £70 million. Questions regarding the former Real Madrid star’s potential for success in the Premier League were raised.
