Darwin Nunez scored 14 goals and registered 12 assists in his debut season in Liga NOS.
A Portuguese newspaper Record (Sports Witness) reports that Chelsea have joined Manchester United, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and PSG in the pursuit of Darwin Nunez.
The Eagles earlier rejected offers from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer and their current plan is to see the market value of Darwin Nunez which is close to his release clause of €150m.
The 22-year-old striker joined Benfica last year for a club-record fee of €24 million. He came to Portugal after spending a year with UD Almeria. The Uruguay international scored 14 goals and registered 12 assists in his debut season in Liga NOS with the Eagles.
Darwin Nunez has found the net six times in eight appearances across all competitions this season. He was the hero of Benfica’s fine victory against Barcelona last Thursday in the Champions League with scoring a brace.
Benfica striker is averaging 2.7 shots, 0.8 key passes, 1.5 dribbles and 0.8 tackles per 90 minutes in Portugal’s top-flight. Manchester City is ahead in this situation and Chelsea will have to battle out with their rival English club.
