Yohanna joined AIK from Nigerian side Ikon Allah FA last summer and has quickly become one of the Allsvenskan’s most exciting young talents.
The Blues now face stiff competition for his signature. Newcastle United have reportedly tabled the largest offer for the winger so far, while Brighton and Hove Albion have already reached a full verbal agreement with the player himself.
Yohanna primarily operates on the right flank but can also play through the centre, offering valuable tactical flexibility for potential suitors.
His current contract with AIK runs until December 2029, though a summer departure now appears increasingly likely given the intense Premier League interest.
Chelsea’s pursuit continues their aggressive recruitment strategy under American ownership. Since the 2022 takeover, the west London club has spent over £100 million each on Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.
Last summer, the club brought in Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Jorrel Hato, though results have been mixed.
While Pedro has thrived, both Delap and fellow 2025 arrival Alejandro Garnacho have struggled and already face uncertain futures at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues view Yohanna as another promising long-term investment. His performances in Sweden have caught the eyes of multiple English clubs, and Chelsea now hope to win the race for his signature.
With Brighton already agreeing terms with the player and Newcastle leading the financial race, the coming weeks will prove decisive for the talented winger’s future.
