According to Foot Mercato, Chelsea will begin negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer window to acquire Randal Kolo Muani. Since joining PSG in 2023 for €95 million from Eintracht Frankfurt, Muani has been a supporting player. For his current employers, he has only started 15 league games, including only two this season under Luis Enrique. The 26-year-old was left out of the three final 2024 matchday squads by him.

As a result, the striker may have to leave the French capital next month, as other clubs from across Europe are vying for his services. AC Milan is apparently considering a deal for the French international, while Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked to a move. The most recent team to be reported to have interest in Muani is Premier League powerhouse Chelsea. After their unsuccessful attempt to sign Victor Osimhen last summer, they are eager to add a new striker.

Chelsea establish contact over Randal Kolo Muani move

Kolo Muani, who has only achieved 453 minutes of playing time in 14 appearances across all competitions, has steadily faded into the background for PSG, contributing two goals and one assist. Even though the 26-year-old attacker has had difficulties at PSG, his market value is still strong. The French international is reportedly linked to Manchester United, which has Premier League heavyweights particularly interested in signing him. But Chelsea may try to outshine the Red Devils, as the West London team is prepared to approach PSG about a move for the former Eintracht Frankfurt forward.

Before a deal for Victor Osimhen fell through, Chelsea, a West London team, sought to add a striker during the summer transfer window. Even though Chelsea has had success this season with Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu, Enzo Maresca might use another option in the final third. Chelsea has therefore made Kolo Muani a realistic target, and the West London team is prepared to step up their efforts to recruit the 26-year-old French international. It will be intriguing to see whether the Blues are able to sign the PSG failure before Manchester United does.
