Roméo Lavia, a midfielder for Southampton, is reportedly in “frequent touch” with Chelsea ahead of a possible transfer to Graham Potter’s team at Stamford Bridge this month

The Blues want to guarantee the 18-year-long-term old’s future in west London, despite the fact that he only transferred from Manchester City to the Saints during the summer transfer window.

Lavia is one of several midfielders Chelsea is considering bringing to Stamford Bridge this month, along with Enzo Fernández of Argentina and Benfica. The Southern Daily Echo has stated that the Blues made a £50 million offer for the teenage starlet on the final day of the summer transfer window, indicating that Todd Boehly has had his eye on him for some time.

Chelsea is looking to add a new midfielder, and Lavia is one name that Phillips previously disclosed to GiveMeSport that they are considering signing.

According to the journalist, Manchester City has a buyback clause option on its former academy product as of this summer, thus the Stamford Bridge team is attempting to get ahead of the competition in the hunt for the starlet’s signature.

Lavia has more than made up for his lack of experience this season with his performances for the Saints, who are currently last in the league. When healthy, he has established himself as a fixture in both Ralph Hasenhüttl and Nathan Jones’ midfield.

Therefore, it appears that Potter might have one of the best young talents in world football on his hands if Chelsea is successful in signing Lavia next month.
