Chelsea shortlist names including Jonathan David and Victor Osimhen to replace Romelu Lukaku

Now that a loan fee has been agreed upon with Inter for the leaving of Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea can begin to prepare player additions for the summer. At Stamford Bridge, a squad revamp was planned regardless this summer, and things are set to quicken up soon.

Richarlison from Everton, Jonathan David from Lille, Victor Osimhen from Napoli, and Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo are four prospective replacements for the departing Belgian, according to reports.

Everton is reportedly willing to examine bids, but they will certainly want for more than £50 million before they even contemplate allowing their Brazilian star depart. Richarlison has been the Toffees’ bright spot on Merseyside and played a key role in their battle for survival last season.

Victor Osimhen of Napoli is yet another intriguing choice. The Nigerian has scored 28 goals in 62 appearances for Napoli since joining from Lille in the summer of 2020. Osimhen was acquired by the Serie A giants for a club-record €81.3 million two years ago, so any deal for him is probably going to be more expensive than that.

Gianluca Scamacca of Sassuolo is the last. Sassuolo almost finished in the top half of the Serie A standings thanks to the 23-year-16 old’s goals, and even though they lost to Torino on goal differential and ended up in 11th place, Scamacca had already accomplished enough to reportedly attract Chelsea’s attention.
