In recent weeks, Chelsea has inquired about Dominic Solanke’s circumstances and is contemplating bringing him back to Stamford Bridge this summer, according to HITC. Chelsea has looked at a wide range of possibilities throughout Europe in its quest for a new number nine. Jhon Duran of Aston Villa has been the subject of much conjecture over the past 24 hours, but he isn’t the only No. 9 connected to Stamford Bridge.
The West London team has been linked to Victor Osimhen, Artem Dovbyk, Ivan Toney, Benjamin Sesko, and other players. However, Solanke, who was called “brilliant” by legendary English player Thierry Henry, has now been put on the list of possible candidates.
Chelsea is looking to bring Domanic Solanke to Stamford Bridge
With Chelsea as his starting point, Solanke recently had his greatest season to date. In addition to earning the Player of the Year award for the first time in The Blues’ history in 2015, he was a standout member of the Under-20 England team throughout the World Cup. Solanke chose to join rivals Liverpool in 2017 instead of accepting a new deal with Chelsea after playing only one Champions League match for the team.
After Bournemouth paid £19 million for him in January 2019, he has been improving ever since moving to the South Coast. He scored 19 goals for The Cherries last season, placing him fourth in the goalscoring rankings only behind Alexander Isak, Cole Palmer, and Erling Haaland.
