Journalist Mark Brus said recently that Chelsea is getting ready to make a deal for Barcelona defender Jules Kounde. At the conclusion of this season, the Blues are reportedly considering a move to sign the French prodigy.

The 27-year-old is playing well for the Catalan team in La Liga and is having a respectable season. In 41 games for Barcelona this season in a variety of tournaments, Kounde has scored three goals and provided four assists.

One of the top defensive full-backs in Spanish football right now is the France international. Chelsea would thus be wise to entice him to Stamford Bridge during the forthcoming transfer window. The Blues may find it challenging to recruit him later this year because his current deal at the Nou Camp expires in the summer of 2030.

Chelsea set to go all out to sign Barcelona star for £70m

The La Liga powerhouses are eager to sell the Frenchman for between £65 million and £70 million, and Chelsea is reportedly preparing an aggressive approach for Barcelona defender Jules Kounde, according to a report from Caught Offside.

Although Manchester City and Liverpool have also been mentioned as possible suitors for the Barcelona star, the Blues are displaying the “strongest interest” since they are now prepared to sign players with more experience this summer instead of concentrating on signing young players.

Kounde, who earns £262k a week, isn’t pushing for a transfer, but given their financial problems, the La Liga team could need to cash in, and the centre-back might be a thrilling addition to Rosenior’s team.

With 41 appearances over all competitions and an average of 1.2 interceptions per 90 in La Liga, which is the second-highest statistic in the Barca team, Flick could be hesitant to lose the 46-cap France international this summer.

However, Kounde has experience in the Champions League, having scored two goals in eight games this season. If Chelsea hopes to entice him to transfer to Stamford Bridge, they may need to finish in the top five.
