Chelsea has made a new inquiry into a possible alternative, and Enzo Maresca reiterated the Blues’ intention to sign a new winger this summer. Chelsea is looking for a new winger after Jadon Sancho returned to Manchester United.

They have made multiple attempts to sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, but a deal was not reached in time for the Club World Cup.

In order to strengthen their assault, Chelsea is willing to take their time. Liam Delap has been signed by Chelsea to play center forward. In addition to Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke, and Tyrique George, Maresca announced Chelsea’s intention to add another winger to their roster.

Despite not having reached an agreement with Dortmund for Gittens, L’Equipe has stated that Chelsea is considering all of their alternatives in light of fresh interest in Lyon’s Malick Fofana. The management of Lyon has reportedly been contacted, although the Blues have not yet made any offers. Lyon is worth about €50 million for Fofana.

The Stamford Bridge club views the acquisition of a new wide player as an urgent priority, and Chelsea believed they had found their answer in the first window of this summer. Mykhailo Mudryk is still banned for allegedly failing a drug test, so the Blues are looking for a new left-winger.

Chelsea has now notified Olympique Lyon of its interest in Malick Fofana, according to L’Equipe and verified by David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The West London powerhouses are now considering a number of names, including the Belgium international; however, it’s crucial to note that no official negotiations have yet to occur. Chelsea just spoke with the 20-year-old to ask questions.

They signed their youngster for €19 million (£16 million) just a year ago, and now they are reportedly ready to cash in on him for €50 million (£42.5 million).

Naturally, the amount Chelsea would have to pay is equal to the offer that was turned down for Gittens within the first 10 days of the month. Other clubs, who have not been identified, are also interested in Nottingham Forest for the remainder of the summer.
