Chelsea are looking to strengthen their attacking options as they’ve reportedly made an opening bid for Deportivo La Coruña’s promising winger, Yeremay Hernandez.

Chelsea make opening bid for Deportivo La Coruna Winger Yeremay Hernandez

According to reports from CaughtOffside, the Blues have submitted an initial offer of £8.5 million for the 22-year-old Spaniard.

Hernandez, who primarily operates on the left wing, has been a standout performer for Deportivo in Spain’s second division this season, netting eight goals and registering three assists in 18 matches.

However, it seems the Spanish club is not ready to part ways with their talented winger so easily. Deportivo have reportedly turned down Chelsea’s opening bid, valuing Hernandez closer to £18 million.

With the player under contract until 2030, the Galician side is under no immediate pressure to sell, giving them a strong hand in negotiations.

Hernández, a product of Deportivo’s youth academy, has emerged as one of the club’s brightest prospects in recent years. Since breaking into the first team, he has made over 70 appearances, contributing 16 goals and eight assists.

His performances have also caught the eye of other European heavyweights, with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Aston Villa, as well as Italian sides Juventus, AC Milan, and Como, all reportedly monitoring his situation.

For Chelsea, the move underscores Enzo Maresca’s determination to reinforce his squad, particularly in the attacking department.

The Blues have struggled in front of goal during their recent Premier League campaign, and the addition of a dynamic, versatile winger like Hernández could provide the creative spark they’ve been missing.

Despite significant interest from other clubs, Chelsea’s recruitment team is pushing ahead to secure the signing.

Hernandez’s record and potential make him an exciting prospect, but whether the Blues will return with an improved bid to meet Deportivo’s demands remains to be seen.

As the transfer window edges closer to its conclusion, Chelsea fans will be eager to see how this pursuit unfolds—and whether Hernandez will don the blue jersey at Stamford Bridge.
