Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling rejects big offer from Saudi Pro League

Chelsea had a busy summer transfer window, adding 11 new players in all under Enzo Maresca’s leadership. However, some players may still be sold in the days ahead, so business may not be over yet.

On the day of the deadline, Nicolas Jackson also left, going on loan to Bayern Munich. Jackson ultimately cost Chelsea £14.2 million on loan, and if certain requirements are fulfilled, the German champions are obligated to pay £56.2 million to buy the 24-year-old permanently.

There are still chances to sell any unwanted stars to teams whose domestic windows are still open, even though Premier League clubs were unable to bring in any new players when the window closed last Monday. Chelsea might take advantage of the opportunity to do exactly that.

There are four Chelsea players that might depart in the next few days. Axel Disasi is attracting attention from Saudi Arabia and Turkey, according to GiveMeSport, while David Datro Fofana could try to push his way out of the team after his last-minute deadline-day deal to Charlton fell through.

Sterling is still a member of the so-called “bomb squad,” which also includes David Datro Fofana and Axel Disasi, who have not been able to find a move from Stamford Bridge after failing to fit into head coach Enzo Maresca’s plans.

Disasi may yet travel to Saudi Arabia or Turkey in the near future. Earlier in the transfer season, NEOM SC had considered a move for the French central defender, but it is believed that he is now more open to Turkey than traveling to the Middle East.

Sterling joined Chelsea for £47.5 million on a five-year contract in 2022 after leaving Manchester City. After making 81 appearances and scoring 19 goals, he did not play under Maresca and spent the 2024–2025 season on loan at Arsenal, where he made 28 appearances across all competitions and scored one goal.
