Despite the winter transfer season being many months away, Chelsea has apparently already scheduled to sell one of its players in January. Since this player is almost completely absent and it is clear that Chelsea wants him gone as soon as possible, I think this one seems very apparent.
As per a report published this week by Football Insider, Chelsea will only consider a permanent deal for Carney Chukwuemeka and will not allow the young player to depart on loan. Although Chukwuemeka was a part of Chelsea’s “bomb squad,” new manager Enzo Maresca has subsequently brought him back into the starting lineup.
According to sources who spoke with Football Insider, the Blues will turn down any loan bids in favour of selling Chukwuemeka permanently. Since the Turkish transfer window has closed, Chukwuemeka, a central midfielder, is expected to stay at Chelsea until at least January. He had been linked to a move to Galatasaray.
Chelsea have already decided to sell player in January
After his early Aston Villa performances, Chukwuemeka was considered the next big thing in English football midfields. Chelsea jumped at the chance to negotiate a speedy transfer for the promising midfield player to move to Stamford Bridge, paying a large sum to Birmingham. Carney Chukwuemeka has played very little since joining the team more than two years ago, which is a major factor in his stunted growth.
Chelsea was rather surprised that he never made a move after being instructed to leave the Blues for a fresh challenge in the summer, even if there was some interest from other clubs. Given that the Blues won’t allow Carney Chukwuemeka to leave on loan, it looks like he may have to wait until January to get out.
