Barnsley have signed Chelsea goalkeeper Brad Collins on a four-year deal with the option of extending it for another year. Collins was a part of Chelsea’s youth team from 2010-2017. He never played for the senior team as he spent the last two seasons on loan. In the 2017/18 season, Chelsea loaned Collins to Forest Green Rovers while Collins played at Burton Albon last season.

The 22-year old keeper kept 12 clean sheets for Burton Albion across all competitions as they ended 9th in League One and reached the semi-finals of the EFL Cup. beating the likes of Aston Villa, Burnley, Midlesbrough and Nottingham Forest in the process.

Upon his transfer to Barnsley, Collins told the club’s official site, “You just want to keep progressing as a footballer and if you look at my stats, it shows I have. The vision here is good, there’s a good group of lads here who are hungry and play the right way.”

Barnsley ended second in League One which secured their promotion to the Championship.
