Chelsea has been handed a hint that Jan Oblak could yet move to the Premier League this season.
The Atletico Madrid goalkeeper was asked about his transfer links with Chelsea and Oblak refused to comment but did drop a subtle hint.
Prior to his match against RB Leipzig in the Champions League, the player was asked about his links to Chelsea.
Oblak told Spanish newspaper AS: ”I’ll assess the season when the last game is over.
“Hopefully we’ll have three more games left to play. Then there will be time after that to talk.
“But first, Leipzig. I’m really looking forward to it.”
Chelsea are in a conundrum when it comes to their goalkeeping department. The Blues thrashed out a world-record fee for Kepa Arrizabalaga two seasons ago but to say that the player has not done well would be an understatement.
Currently, Kepa ranks 731st out of 731 goalkeepers to play in the Premier League era, according to stats – making Chelsea desperate for a new player at the back.
Oblak would be a brilliant signing given his form and calibre but his £110m release clause might be a hefty one for the Blues to pay!
