Chelsea FC have made a final decision on Nicolas Jackson’s future — and the 24-year-old has been told his time at Stamford Bridge is over.

Chelsea tell Jackson his Blues career is over as £56m buy-clause goes unused

Jackson joined Bayern Munich on loan for the 2025-26 season, in a deal worth roughly £14.2 million.

As part of the arrangement, Bayern had committed to a £56.2–£56.25 million permanent transfer if Jackson met a pre-set appearance threshold.

But with the striker due to head to the Africa Cup of Nations and now far from reaching the required number of matches, the trigger for the permanent move will almost certainly not be met.

In response, Chelsea have informed Jackson he will not be part of their first-team plans if he returns next summer.

Sources claim the club sees no future for him under the current structure, especially with fresh options arriving and the squad reshaping accordingly.

The decision appears mutual: Jackson reportedly respects the club’s stance and accepts that his Chelsea chapter is coming to an end.

For Bayern — if they do wish to keep Jackson — the club may now need to renegotiate terms rather than rely on the automatic clause.

Given their existing front-line options, the likelihood of them exercising the £56 million buy clause seems increasingly slim.

That leaves Jackson facing an uncertain future — able to leave Chelsea for good, but dependent on one final decision: whether Bayern are willing to pursue him permanently, or whether other clubs step in for the Senegalese forward next summer.
