Armando Broja is targetting return for Chelsea pre-season.

The Chelsea academy product had a cruciate ligament rupture at the end of last year and was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Prior to his injury, he made three starts and 15 substitute outings in all competitions for the Blues.

The Albanian international is back in light training and targeting a return to action for Chelsea during their pre-season tour of America.

The injury prevented Broja from establishing his foot in the first-team squad after he penned a six-year contract at the start of the campaign.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would leave the club on a free transfer whereas Chelsea are struggling to find a solution for Romelu Lukaku who will return from his two-year loan spell at Inter Milan.

Broja is the only natural striker to be handed a chance to stake a claim for a place in Pochettino’s new Chelsea XI.

Chelsea are confident of sealing a £50million deal to sign RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku.
