Chelsea face competition from Real Madrid in pursuit of young defender

Chelsea are currently leading the race to secure Lima’s signature for a fee of around €7m.

Chelsea are planning to boost their chances for the signing of young defender and they are now facing task with European winners, Real Madrid. Los Blancos are ready to spoil the party for Sport Recife right-back Pedro Lima.

The 17-year-old broke in to the starting lineup of the Brazilian club and made 25 appearances across all competitions. The Blues have long been linked with the teenage defender.

According to the reports of AS, Chelsea are currently leading the race to secure Lima’s signature for a fee of around €7m. Los Blancos are admirer of this young right-back and they are monitoring the player.

The club officials are considering a rival bid if talks with Pedro Lima break down. Real Madrid need to do it quicky as Chelsea are making fast approach.

The Blues have “very little left to close” in their negotiations over Lima. Chelsea have shown their interest in one more player from the second-tier football of Brazil. They signed midfielder Santos from Vasco da Gama in the winter window of 2023.

Kendry Paez will also complete his much-anticipated move to the West London in the summer of 2025, and he will be joined by Estevao, who has agreed a whopping €65m switch to Chelsea.
