Nicolas Jackson, a striker for Chelsea, has had his contract extended by two years, till 2033. In an indication of their faith in the £32 million signing from Villarreal last summer, the Blues have now committed the Senegalese forward to the team for a period of nine years. In addition to his eight goals in the last eight games, Jackson scored in Sunday’s 1-1 draw between Crystal Palace and Stamford Bridge, where he finished the previous season with 14 Premier League goals.

“The only thing I know is he’s signing a new contract; I don’t know how many years.” was the response manager Enzo Maresca gave when speaking about Jackson’s contract following the game. I am quite content. From off the ball to on it, Nicolas is performing admirably for us. So far this season, he has scored two goals. He scored once more today. Though we are thrilled with him, he had two more chances.”

Chelsea confirms Nicolas Jackson contract extension

To ensure that Nicolas Jackson did not try to extend the seven years he had left on his current contract, Chelsea has offered him a trademark long new contract. A contract deal that would keep Jackson with the team until 2033 officially quite a long way off has been agreed upon, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Cole Palmer extended his contract by two years last month, and now his deal will run until 2033 that is, until everyone starts driving around in cars. It’s possible that Jackson’s choice was influenced by Chelsea’s inability to pursue Victor Osimhen, a center-forward for Napoli who has only increased the Senegalese international’s reputation inside the squad.
