Chelsea are ready to overturn their disappointing home run against Brighton, says Frank Lampard.
Since the beginning of the 2019/20 campaign, the Blues have failed to win a single Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge – their last home defeat coming at the hands of Liverpool.
Of course, the team has had to undergo a variety of challenges under the new boss but the task should be much easier against a lower table side like Brighton & Hove Albion, who have failed to even win a Premier League game this season.
“The fact that we haven’t won at home in the league is something that we obviously we want to correct. If we want to be where we want to be we’re going to need home wins,” Lampard said.
“We must respect Brighton hugely because they’re playing very well, playing some really good football – new manager, change of style, maybe not the points on the board that they deserve.
“So we can’t just because we haven’t had a home win expect it will come because we’re Chelsea and they’re Brighton – no we respect them and we’ll try and get our win.”
Chelsea are currently 11th in the standings after winning just 2 of the 6 games played so far.
