Chelsea Dealt A Severe blow As Midfielder Suffers Ankle Injury Ahead Of The Europa League Final

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is doubtful for Chelsea’s Europa League final after suffering an ankle injury against New England Revolution.

The midfielder appeared to have sustained an Achilles injury which could keep him out of 29th May’s big final against Arsenal in Baku. The 23 year old had to be taken off the field and is expected to be on the sidelines for a prolonged period.

Chelsea are yet to make any comment on the severity of the injury but it could be a massive blow for them ahead of this important match. The English international has been a pivotal part of their European campaign and led the team in both the semifinal from the front.

Sarri seemed to be impressed with the player’s capability in recent times but he might have to alter his plans if the midfielder fails to recover in time for the much anticipated final.

The gaffer earlier looked to be a bit concerned as he didn’t like the idea of playing a friendly at this time. “We have to recover energy because we are really very tired.

“Unfortunately we have to go to the United States. I think in this moment we need to rest then we have 10 days to prepare for the final.”
