According to a TeamTalk report, Chelsea’s summer transfer window is still going strong, and the Blues are currently aiming for Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa as their main target. Chelsea is apparently willing to push the boat out for the 21-year-old offensive midfielder, whom Villa values at a substantial £80 million, even though they have already spent more than £200 million.
This most recent development follows rumors that Aston Villa is interested in Nicolas Jackson, a striker for Chelsea, and that a Villa deal for Jackson would trigger an immediate formal offer from Chelsea for Rogers.
In order to strengthen their offense, Chelsea has been among the most active Premier League teams this transfer window, acquiring Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap, and Joao Pedro. The desire for further reinforcements is still high, though. Villa has expressed interest in Nicolas Jackson, according to TeamTalk, and Rogers would suffer if he were to sign him.
Chelsea Line Up £80m Move for Aston Villa Star
Given his significance to Unai Emery’s team and his enormous £80 million valuation, Villa does not want to allow the midfield player to leave. But when it comes to the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), the villains are in a dangerous position, and they are anticipated to make sales this summer. Rogers is not one of the outgoings they desire, but they will have to take it into consideration if a sizable deal is made.
Villa is eager to add a striker, and since Chelsea has created a lot of competition for the Senegal international this summer, Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea is on their list of objectives.
According to Phillips, Rogers is very open to joining Chelsea, who would love to sign him. Other sources have already indicated that they have a genuine interest in the England international. If an agreement can be reached, Emery would like to work with the 24-year-old again at Villa Park.
Jackson, who has scored 30 goals in his two seasons at Chelsea, has also reportedly attracted the attention of Manchester United.
