Borussia Dortmund Open To Selling Jadon Sancho After Acquiring Erling Haaland

Chelsea has the option to reject making Jadon Sancho’s loan from Manchester United a long-term agreement. Last summer, the winger was able to leave Old Trafford with a clause that stipulated that they would pay the Red Devils £22–25 million as long as Enzo Maresca’s team finished in the Premier League in 14th place or above.

With the West London team 15 points ahead of United, who are now in 14th place, a late-season drop into the bottom half seems improbable for Chelsea, who are in contention for Champions League football.

It is said that the agreement contains a flaw that would enable Chelsea to back out of the arrangement. According to the Mail, the Blues could decide not to proceed with a transfer for the 24-year-old and instead pay a “significant penalty.”

The conditions of any contract reached with the player could be an additional source of complexity. Despite it first appearing that Sancho will stay at Stamford Bridge, he has yet to sign a contract there.

Jadon Sancho could return to Man United

Chelsea agreed to pay between £22 million and £25 million for Sancho at the end of the season, according to the Daily Mail, provided that they placed 14th or higher in the Premier League. However, Chelsea may decide to back out of the agreement and pay a “significant penalty” to return the 24-year-old to Manchester.

Despite this, Sancho seems content at the club and feels at home at Stamford Bridge. “I’m really delighted that I’m here, playing football at Chelsea,” he remarked after the team’s triumph against Leicester. Maresca gives us a homey feeling. Players find that difficult to say. We’ve united as a large family.

Earlier in the season, Maresca gave Sancho credit for his contributions to the team since moving from Old Trafford. A welcome surprise was given to the Italian by the England international.

Sancho and Chelsea have not yet reached an agreement on a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea is interested in several other wingers, including Jesus Rodriguez of Real Betis.
