Chelsea Contact Timo Werner's Representatives

German news publication, BILD states that Chelsea and Manchester United have contacted Timo Werner’s representatives.

The German forward is a highly wanted man with Bayern Munich and Liverpool also interested in his services.

Earlier it was established that a move to the Allianz Arena was imminent, given Bayern’s ability to attract top local talents. However, Werner himself is keen on playing elsewhere if he is to be sold by Leipzig. Chelsea have been in hot pursuit of the 24-year-old ever since he burst onto the scene in the Bundesliga.

Werner clinched 27 goals and 12 assists in 38 appearances this season, guiding Leipzig to a solid title challenge in years. He also has 11 goals in 29 caps for Germany so far. Definitely one of the world’s best strikers already at the age of only 24. Chelsea’s firepower will increase significantly with him in the current lineup.

But the question remains whether Frank Lampard will be successful in signing him. Liverpool’s prospects of landing him are strong due to the presence of Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. Both Germans admire each other’s professional qualities and wish to unite at least once at club level. Manchester United is motivated to make at least one forward addition this summer i.e., either Jadon Sancho or Timo Werner.

While Lampard’s squad is not entirely convincing of a title push, Werner’s arrival will definitely affect the futures of at least one of his top front three players – Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi or Tammy Abraham. Nevertheless, fans are ready to welcome the German with open arms.
