Chelsea considering a move for Leeds United forward Raphinha
Chelsea are rumoured to be preparing a summer transfer raid for Leeds United midfielder Raphinha.
Since his arrival at Elland Road in 2020, the 25-year-old has taken the Premier League by storm. He has been a key part of the Peacocks’ attacking flair, and Marcelo Bielsa is said to be a huge supporter of the player.
This season, the Brazilian has already scored eight goals and contributed two assists in 21 Premier League appearances for the Peacocks.
Despite their best efforts, big-name additions like Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku have unable to perform on a continuous basis. Chelsea’s failure to break down strong defences has been highlighted in the Premier League this season, as they have struggled to score goals and have already slipped 16 points behind current leaders Manchester City.
The whites have failed to score points in England’s top division this season, languishing in the bottom part of the standings and now only six points clear of the relegation zone.
Raphinha might be given a chance to play at the highest level with Chelsea, and the lure of those wonderful European evenings could be another enticement for the Brazilian.
Only time will tell whether the 25-year-old Brazilian makes his way to the London-based team, but a player of his calibre might be a wonderful addition to any elite club come this summer window.
