Callum Hudson-Odoi had to walk away from the Chelsea Burnley match midway in the second half after a bad injury.

it later turned out to be a torn achilles.

“[I’m] really gutted to end my season with a ruptured Achilles,” the Englishman posted on his Twitter account. “Got to work hard and try and come back stronger for next season!”

Zola also confirmed the injury after the match, saying, “It’s not an easy one. I think it’s a serious injury.”

“It’s his Achilles tendon. I cannot tell you the extent of it. I don’t know – he’ll have to have an examination, but it’s not looking good. I don’t know if it’s ruptured.

And now, the club has confirmed that the young English star is set to miss the rest of the season at least.

A brief statement on Chelsea’s website confirmed Hudson-Odoi is due to have surgery on Tuesday. It read: “Callum is seeing a specialist this afternoon and is expected to undergo surgery on his ruptured Achilles tendon this evening.”

Hudson-Odoi will be very upset after he had recently broken into the first team and things were looking really positive form him.
