Hakim Ziyech Completes Permanent Move to Galatasaray

In a significant summer move, Chelsea has confirmed the permanent transfer of Hakim Ziyech to Galatasaray. The Moroccan winger’s departure follows a loan spell with the Turkish champions, during which he played a pivotal role in their title-winning campaign last season.

Initially joining Chelsea from Ajax in 2020, Ziyech’s time at Stamford Bridge saw him make 107 appearances, scoring 14 goals. Despite his contributions, including helping Chelsea clinch the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup, Ziyech often found himself on the periphery of the squad in recent times.

Chelsea’s official statement expressed gratitude for Ziyech’s efforts, highlighting his memorable moments in blue and wishing him success in his new chapter with Galatasaray.

The Turkish club, in turn, confirmed that Ziyech’s transfer was completed free of charge, with conditions met from his loan contract. He is set to earn a net seasonal wage of €2.85 million for the 2024-2025 season, with an option for extension under similar terms.

Ziyech’s departure from Chelsea might be seen as a fresh start for the 31-year-old, who will now aim to make a lasting impact in Turkey. Despite leaving on a free transfer, Chelsea included a sell-on clause in the deal, ensuring they benefit financially should Galatasaray decide to move him on in the future.

As Ziyech embarks on this new journey, both Chelsea and Galatasaray fans will keenly watch how this talented playmaker reinvents himself in the Turkish Super League.
